There are over 500 different exercises that can be used in Pilates, and these exercises can be completed using just a mat, or sometimes with different equipment such as a fitness ball, weights, resistance band, and reformer machines.

Benefits of Pilates

Pilates exercises aim to improve body awareness, postural support, muscle tone and increase muscle endurance. The muscles focused on are your deep abdominal, lower back, hips and buttocks (The ‘core muscles’ of your body). Pilates can even help with relaxation, stress reduction and concentration!

Who benefits from Pilates?

Anyone!

Physiotherapist taught Pilates is tailored at an individual level and exercises are regularly re-evaluated to ensure they are appropriate and meeting that person’s needs.

Due to the emphasis placed on technique and body awareness, Pilates is moulded to suit the dancer, runner, cyclist, triathlete among us. This individual approach also means it can be tailored to the person with an existing/previous injury and pregnant ladies.

Individuals looking to return to exercise or commence exercise can gain a better understanding of their body positioning to set them up for safer and healthier days ahead.

A one-on-one Pilates session sets you up with the exercises your body needs with the appropriate feedback for you!
