At the moment, more than any other time, there is so much choice when it comes to health professionals and there are lots of different types of health professionals. Often certain types get associated with certain body parts or certain problems, for example, a chiropractor is for your neck or your back, perhaps a physio is for sport injuries or for muscles, an osteopath is for a bit of everything, somewhere in around the pelvis. I think when you’re trying to make a decision about who you see, don’t be so worried about what they’re called and be more concerned with what they do and how they do it, and why they do it, and try and align what you need from your health professional at that point in time with what it is that they do.
If all you want is someone to crack your neck and make you feel better, pick someone that does that. If you have a big problem that is getting in the way of your life, and you need to get back to doing what you want, then you need someone who will help you rehab that problem and find a permanent solution. There’s lots of health professionals that focus on different types of things, be it symptom changes or longer term rehab solutions, so depending on your problem and what you’re after, try and find someone that fits your outcome rather than one specific profession that may or may not do what you think. We are physios, but there’s lots of things that physios do that we don’t do here at our clinic. We are a good example, try and find the health professional and the clinic that you need that can help you find the solution to the problem that you have. https://youtu.be/uY-Eywu4BOo
